In the Fruits Basket Manga series, is there any inapropriate content? especially for kids? Is it dirty?

I am wondering if the manga series of fruits basket has inapropriate content, especially for kids. Is it dirty? if so, what kind of content? Please tell me about both English and Japanese versions please :)

Also, in case any of you had the opportunity to read later volumes that are not yet out in the US, or later volumes that ARE out in the US, please tell me anything bad in those books.

Also, specifically tell me if there is any bad content between tohru and kyo/yuki.

I've read the entire 23-volume series.

There is not a lot of adult content, and none between Tohru, Yuki, and Kyo.

However, in volume 14, it is implied that Hatsuharu and Rin slept together. Natsuki Takaya is very tasteful in rendering sexual content, and not much is shown. We see Haru and Rin in bed, clothes on the floor, but only their backs and the side of Rin's breasts are shown. Also note that Haru was only around 14 or 15 at this time.

Some might raise an eyebrow to volume 16's story of romance between high school student Kyoko and her teacher Katsuya Honda, but nothing sexual is shown.

**SPOILER WARNING**

Anyone who doesn't want to know a few spoilers for volume 17 and beyond should not read this:

In volume 17, Akito's breasts are partially shown to show that she is a woman. This volume probably has the heaviest sexual content. It is mentioned that Akito has slept with Kureno, and the two are shown in an embrace. Then it is revealed that Shigure has slept with Akito's mother, Ren.

To top it all off, Akito and Shigure sleep together.

This is rendered tastefully, only a kiss is shown, then we cut to Akito sleeping (naked, breasts partially shown again.)

As for other inappropriate content, there is a bit of violence. Akito is always a violent character, attempting to strangle her mother, hitting Yuki over the head with a vase, threatening Tohru with a knife, stabbing Kureno.

Overall, Fruits Basket isn't too high on inappropriate content, but it can be a dark series at times, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under 14.
Reply:Doujinshi are comics created by fans that are often based on existing series. A lot of them feature sexually explicit depictions of characters from popular series. If you saw any dirty pictures involving Fruits Basket characters, they were fan-created. Report It

Reply:When the story ends, Tohru and Kyo have only shared a very innocent kiss, but we know that eventually they'll get married and have a kid, because we see a glimpse far into the future in which Tohru and Kyo have become grandparents! How they make their baby is up to your imagination. ^_^ Report It

Reply:Doujinshi are BY DEFINITION "fakes drawn by fans." Report It

Reply:No!

The baddest thing in there is probably very, very subtle homosexual content and characters insinuating something is happening, but nothing really.

Trust me, my 11 year old brother reads em and we've gotten up to about 10.
Reply:no i've read all the volumes that are out nothing bad is there
Reply:During a certain chapter in Japan, about 15 chapters away from the ending showed blood when Tohru fell from a cliff. And there's this part where Akito stabbed the bird of the zodiac. So I guess it has some explicit contents.

EDIT:

Oh yeah... there's this certain part here Akito slept with Shigure. Note that this is not Yaoi... Akito is a female in the manga raised as a male.
Reply:there are few jokes here and there and they are nakie when they transform back, but nothing shows, nothing bad, in my mind anyway.
