Is the manga of "Fruits Basket" too girly for a boy to enjoy?

I am right now watching the anime, and currently it's my favorite romance anime. I hear the manga is good but I want to know if it's too girly for a boy to like.

I have enjoyed: Tsubasa and The All New Tenchi Muyo, they are both romance but I enjoyed them, but I am more of a fan of action and violence. I enjoy action stuff like Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, Evangelion, and other stuff. So would a boy enjoy the manga of fruits basket or would it be too girly for a boy to like? Or would it just depend on the person?

Is the manga of "Fruits Basket" too girly for a boy to enjoy?
No, because there are lots of different people who has different personality. I have a friend who is a boy that likes romance. And, Fruits basket has good humor, romance, and a very surprising surprise.
Reply:No! Anyone who has that has a huuuuge complex!

Don't worry! I think it is really cool!
Reply:I think that you'd need to watch and judge it yourself. Howver, if you're a fan of action and not (so much) romance, I'd don't think you should read it.

The manga is a lot better than the anime, so if you want an in depth view of it, go ahead. However, there is not a trace of action in it. It's more of a psychological thing where characters rebuild themselves. And there are a lot of twists that the anime never gets into that are really interesting.

So basically, if you liked the anime, I would suggest that you read it only to fully experience the story (because the anime takes a lot out). But, be warned, that it might be too "girly".
Reply:no way! i have guy friends who love the series, both manga and anime
Reply:Probably depends on the person.

Personally I like the manga better because it is a lot more in-depth than the anime.

I consider the anime to be more 'girly' than the manga.

Try reading a volume, if you don't like it, sell it on ebay or something.
Reply:No I think its cool a guy likes fruits basket but don't get to emotional that's what happened to me I was crying my eyes out.
Reply:i think the best way would be for you to read and judge for yourself. because fruit basket is a 'shoujo' genre manga, you can only expect romance to be its main focus. its is, however, extremely amusing and entertaining-and far better compared to the anime. why not try and read a couple of chapter yourself and judge? if you like it then why bother worrying whether its girly or not?everyone after all have their own interests.
Reply:no way! my brother and guy friends read it and they think both the anime and manga are just as hilarious as I do (though they also laugh at the gushy moments, but hey! Boys will be boys) ^^
Reply:Well the manga is way better than the anime. It ends totally different. It isn't too girly for a guy. I know guys who watch and read way less manly stuff than that.
Reply:don't worry. my brother too likes manga and he also reads fruit basket manga which i saw with my own eyes.he seems to enjoy it. so,it sure depend on you, whether you minds it.
Reply:Personally, yeah I do. The whole entire story is just one chunk of romance. No fighting, no action, no adventure, no main plot; nothing. I think it's too girly. I can understand people liking adventure or action animes with some romance here and there. BUT Fruits Baskets is not for guys. Fruits Basket is from Tohru's point of view, sorta. It's nothing incredibly funny either. The plot is obvious, some stuff is so random. At first, I thought the plot was kinda interesting. As it went on in the anime and manga, I got deeply disappointed. The plot is obvious and boring. It's weird that so many guys like it. It's obviously a girls anime.

I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. Just sharing my opinion.
